The last Start-up Scrum for 2015 was held in Athens between July 13 and 17. 40 entrepreneurs have travelled to Athens from all over Europe and had the opportunity to participate in the program. Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation hosted the event in its new offices.

Thesea are going to work on their ideas for a 4-month virtual incubating period and the best of them are going to participate in the EU-XCEL Ultimate Challenge Final at Cork this November. Members of the EU-XCEL Project Consortium presented the EU-XCEL in various Greek Universities at special events organized in order to promote entrepreneurial activities. These events took place on:

Moreover, the EU-XCEL team travelled to Cyprus at May 5th and presented the EU-XCEL Project at the University of Nicosia.

The European initiative for technological entrepreneurship, presented its business acceleration programmes (EU-XCEL and STARTUP SCALEUP) during the celebration of “Startups in the Sun”. The event took place at Cartagena in Spain in the El Batel auditorium on March 26th this year.
During the event, Cloud Incubator HUB, an active partner of STARTUP EUROPE, carried out several meetings with dozens of tech entrepreneurs from various European countries such as Finland, the Netherlands and Spain. Meetings were also held with specialised investors interested in the STARTUP SCALEUP and EU-XCEL programs. The event was organized by the Institute of Development for the Region of Murcia (INFO), whose aims for this this conference were to promote internationalization, direct private investment, business growth and networking amongst the attendees. Andrés Iborra, head of Cloud Incubator Hub, and partner of the projects STARTUP SCALEUP and EU-XCEL, made various contact throughout with those investors interested in financing entrepreneurial projects. STARTUP EUROPE presented its own stand at the event where information on the programmes was provided to attendees.
The attendees showed their interest by submitting applications to the EU-XCEL program. The participation in this Accelerator of STARTUP EUROPE offers entrepreneurs access to mentors through a virtual platform, a week of intensive training in several European countries and the participation in a European competition. In Spain, EU-XCEL program will be held at the Fuente Álamo Technology Park, which is the headquarters of Cloud Incubator Hub, the technology accelerator at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

EU-XCEL was present at the grand Global Entrepreneurship Congress (www.gec.co) on March 16-19 to spread the word about the program. At the Start Europe booth students, startups and people working with innovation on many levels talked to us and showed their interest on our project. Representatives from a couple of European incubation environments are now taking EU-XCEL back home to further promote the great offering in the program to their audience.
