Munich University of Applied Sciences

Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS) is the largest university of applied sciences in Bavaria, and the second largest in Germany. Program offerings are divided into four fields: Engineering, Economics, Social Sciences, and Design. Students can choose from both traditional degree programs and innovative programs tailored to the
evolving demands of a changing society.

The most important thing about the university are the people – 18.000 students, around 500 professors, 750 lecturers, 660 staff and over 70 study programmes. MUAS feels committed to the guiding principle: “Transforming Knowledge into Know-how and Learners into Leaders.”

The most important quality of teaching and research is its close link to practice, guaranteed by our professors due to their strong economic contacts. Prior to teaching, they worked for a minimum of five years and know what students need for a successful start in their working lives.

In July 2011 MUAS and Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) became officially recognised ‘EXIST Start-Up University’ acknowledged by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi). As one of the top six winners MUAS has been awarded the title of “EXIST – Academy of Excellence for Entrepreneurs”.

The Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) is the entrepreneurship center of the MUAS and offers training and research programs in the field of entrepreneurship, and encourages innovation processes and the development of entrepreneurial personalities. SCE supports business start-ups from science and guides young businesses from
idea development to marketable innovation. In this way SCE actively contributes to shaping the future of our society and to establishing a comprehensive start-up culture. The center was founded in 2002 as an affiliated institute of the MUAS.
